Polokwane Game Reserve, Limpopo

Polokwane Game Reserve is situated 6 kilometres outside of Polokwane city. The 3200 Hectre Game reserve is one the most notable in the county and one of the largest of its kind. Of the 21 species of game: sable, tsessebe, gemsbok, blesbok and springbok are some of them. The reserves size is no disadvantage, as the chance of spotting game is much higher. The reserve is host to the fertile Pietersburg Plateau False Grassland habitat, which supports various rare bird species such as the endemic short claw lark. Visit here and your sure to spot Kalahari scrub-robin, ashy tit, zitting cisticola and burnt-neck eremomela. Also, you might see the violet-backed starling. There are over 330 bird species recorded in the reserve, perfect for the bird watcher.
