Tshukudu Private Game Reserve, Limpopo

Situated outside the town of Hoedspruit, is Tshukudu Private Game reserve, a 5000 hectare stretch of land traversing pristine wilderness below the back drop of the majestic Drakensberg mountains. This family owned reserve was one of the first to be established in the Hoedspruit area, the labour of love of the Sussens family. Since then many new species were introduced including white rhino, hence the name Tshukudu, the Sotho for rhino.

Expert guides and trackers ensure an exciting African game encounters on late afternoon and morning drives on 4×4 vehicles.

Unique to Tshukudu is an ongoing orphaned animal re-introduction program, offering guests the rare opportunity of interacting with animals on a special morning walk.

Besides this the management of Tshukudu are also undertakeing a lion breeding project, with the mission to re-stocking as many of the private reserves with lion. As of yet, 250 lion have successfully been placed.

Consisting of 14 chalets, Tshukudu Game Lodge combines comfort with all the necessities including that African “touch”. Warm hospitality and delicious home cooking is a given.
